Beasley Broadcast Group Launches Digital HD 98.3 WHHD-FM
AUGUSTA, Georgia, March 2, 2006 – Beasley Broadcast Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: BBGI), a large- and mid-size market radio broadcaster, today announces that HD 98.3 WHHD-FM, a Top 40 formatted station, is replacing WSLT-FM Lite 98, a Soft AC formatted station.
Commenting on the format change, Kent Dunn, Vice President and General Manager of the Beasley Augusta cluster, stated, “The new format on HD 98.3 has been specifically developed for the Augusta listening community seeking today’s Hit Music. With a combination of great Top 40 hits from artists including Kelly Clarkson, Black Eyed Peas, John Mayer, Nickelback, Beyonce and 3 Doors Down, and the state-of-the-art CD quality sound, made possible by HD Radio™ technology, HD 98.3 WHHD-FM delivers an unparalleled listening experience both in content and audio quality. In addition to the great new programming and the latest music, HD 98.3 listeners will have access to on-air personalities that are as upbeat as the station’s play list.”
Once a listener has obtained an HD Radio tuner, HD 98.3 WHHD-FM can be heard in digital sound, and, like other HD Radio offerings, is free of subscription fees. The station can be accessed on HD Radio receivers by setting the tuner to “98.3.” Listeners with standard radio receivers can also tune into the new HD 98.3.
