Unique Interactive's 'Digital Radio Display Text Manager' launches at Las Vegas

NAB 2006 sees the U.S. launch of Unique Interactive's "ManDLS" Digital Radio Display Text Manager as the Harris "Flexstar DATAplus" application.

ManDLS is already the market-leading solution for UK digital radio broadcasters, with over 45% of all DAB Digital Radio stations using the system. The new version support both HD Radio™ and FM RBDS as well as the existing DAB and DVB-T platorms and includes enhanced features for the U.S. market.

Last year Unique Interactive formed a strategic alliance with Harris Corporation, the international commuications and information technology company, to integrate its flagship "Display Text" solution into Harris's HD Radio™ Flexstar ™ product portfolio. Under the terms of the three-year contract, Harris will now offer a branded version of ManDLS 3 known as Flexstar DATAplus to new and existing HD Radio customers.

Flexstar DATAplus enables broadcasters to easily create, manage and schedule dynamic text for display on HD Radio™ and existing RBDS receivers. The system, links with playout systems for track and artist data, as well as information databases for traffic and travel, news, sports, and weather. Furthermore, the software provides easy management of sales and promotional messaging.

The system will be available for demonstration on the Harris stand in Central Hall Booth 807 at NAB2006 in Las Vegas, from the 24th-27th April.

Matthew Honey, Unique Interactive's Managing Director commented "We've been working hard with Harris over the last few months to provide a flexible and robust HD Radio text system to integrate with their existing product range. With 13,000 radio stations in the US, the potential for conversion to HD Radio™ and the use of our software is enormous"
