MEDIA ALERT: Nine New Vehicle Models Equipped with HD Radio™ Technology Arrive at Dealerships

What: Nine new models offering HD Radio Technology as standard or as a factory-installed option have hit dealerships across the country. Automakers and models include:

BMW’s 2011 5 Series - HD Radio Technology is now a standard feature
Ford’s 2011 Super Duty, Mustang, Flex and Taurus – These are the first Ford models to include the digital upgrade as part of the available navigation package
Jaguar’s 2010 XJ model - HD Radio Technology is standard
Hyundai’s 2011 Sonata – HD Radio Technology is included on the Limited model with the premium audio system
Lincoln’s 2011 MKT and MKS models – These are the first 2011 Lincoln models to include HD Radio Technology in the available navigation package

To date, there are 12 automotive brands offering HD Radio Technology equipped models in dealerships, including BMW, Ford, Jaguar, Lincoln, Mercedes, MINI, Volvo, Hyundai, Scion, Land Rover, Volkswagen, and Rolls Royce. Audi, Kia and Mercury will also launch new models that include HD Radio Technology for the first time in 2010.

Why: Automakers are continuing to embrace HD Radio Technology at a rapid pace, offering consumers a variety of new and exciting stations in crystal-clear, digital sound, including on-screen text information that displays song titles and artist names.

Today, there are over 2,000 AM & FM stations broadcasting with HD Radio Technology with more than 1,200 additional digital only FM HD2/HD3/HD4 multicast channels sending new exciting programming.
